Trained by the big companies. Priced like a small one. World-class attitude. 5 stars on Google.
↑ Why us
Most people have hired movers before, and most people have a story about it. The crew that showed up sullen. The guys who made you feel like a burden for owning a couch. The quiet resentment you could feel from the other end of the hallway.
We're not that. We like this work — the puzzle of packing a truck properly, the physical intelligence of it, the fact that we get to be the calm part of somebody's hard day. When you thank us at the end, we're actually glad to hear it. That's not a service philosophy. It's just true.
"I've hired movers before and they're just miserable bastards. Your temperament is perfect."
That was a customer this month, moving out of his house mid-divorce. The kitchen wasn't packed. His daughter had had a meltdown that morning. He apologized to us three times in the first ten minutes for the state of things.
He didn't need to. Days like that are the reason we do this.
↓ The trade
Every one of us was trained by a major moving company before we ended up here. That's where you learn to load a truck so nothing shifts on the highway, how to blanket-wrap a dresser so the finish survives, how to get a sectional through a door that shouldn't fit.
The difference is overhead. No call centre, no franchise fee, no regional manager. The money goes to the crew and the truck, which is why our rates land well under the national outfits doing the same work with less care.
One quote, honestly priced, and it's the price. No hidden fees, no fuel surcharge, no charging you for our lunch break. Insurance is included, not an upsell.
↓ Services
Most of our work. We pack the truck, drive it, and unload room by room wherever you point. You don't lift anything.
Our 26-foot box truck is set up for distance. Toronto, Calgary, across the border — we've done the drive.
Wrapping, taping, blanketing, bubble wrap, boxes. Do the whole house or just the kitchen you ran out of time for.
Junk removal, deliveries, storage loading, moving one heavy thing up one flight of stairs. Call and ask.
↑ Reviews
Every one is on Google. These are unedited.
The temperament of every guy on the job was the main point of difference to past experiences with moving firms. They were lightning fast, energetic and nothing was too much trouble. The quote was reasonable from the start, in stark difference to other local firms who started high, then called me repeatedly lowering their rate. I don't often post reviews but really want to recommend this crew — truly hard working, decent people.

The most transparent and fair pricing, and the most care I've ever seen taken with packing. These guys are truly the best in the area.
I booked a residential move with them, and it went as smoothly as I could have hoped. The cost was about 50% cheaper than [a local competitor]. Up Down Movers doesn't charge hidden fees for anything — insurance is even included. In contrast, I've been charged $150 just for insurance elsewhere, plus an extra $100 for "travel and gas" on a move that was only 10 minutes away, and over $200/hour during their lunch break. I've also had to spend months negotiating with other companies just to reach a fair final price.
Kalen and his team at Up Down Moving finally gave me a moving experience I'd actually be willing to repeat. After moving five times in Greater Vancouver, I've dealt with all kinds of issues — hidden fees, broken furniture, and questionable insurance policies became something I expected. I've never used the same company twice before.
When Kalen gave me the final bill, I was honestly surprised — in a good way. After all my past experiences of having to argue bills down, Up Down Movers charged a fair price from the start, and their work more than matched it.
They wrapped nearly everything in blankets and even built custom supports for items like curved monitors and expensive electronics. The pricing was reasonable, and the entire process was hassle free on my end.
This was a genuinely great experience and easily stands out from all my previous moves. You really don't want to deal with the aftermath of a bad moving company.
I attached a picture of a curved monitor to show the kind of care they take to pack things.

I've moved a few times across BC now and I genuinely won't use anyone else. Everything was wrapped up properly, furniture taken apart and reassembled without losing a single screw. Fast without cutting any corners. I felt completely comfortable having them in my home and trusted them with everything we own.

Kalen operates with a level of integrity and humanity that is rare today. Would recommend him and his company for any future moves.

Every piece of furniture was wrapped in a blanket, and we had some challenging pieces to move in and out of the condo — they did it without scratching or denting any walls or doors. We will use these guys again in a heartbeat.

They even assembled our beds — our main bed is quite complicated, and they managed to put it together perfectly without any instructions. Arrived right on time with great attitudes and worked seamlessly together.

From the first conversation with Kalen we felt genuinely valued as clients. Transparent communication and calm confidence that put us at ease. Even though our move was modest in size, he approached it as important work, and that meant a great deal to us.

North Vancouver to Kelowna. They wrapped our furniture and loaded our entire home in three hours, then unloaded and reassembled everything at the other end. Nothing was damaged or missing. Moving is such a stressful event and they made it enjoyable.
